Open Briefing provides aid workers, search and rescue teams, research expeditions, freelance journalists and others with expert advice on the clothing, equipment and supplies that they need in order to undertake their work safely and effectively.
Our relationships with leading manufacturers and suppliers mean that we are able to provide our civil society clients with substantial discounts on everything we supply them with (up to 35% off RRP), some of which is normally only available to the military or emergency services. This includes outdoor clothing and equipment, first aid kits, ration packs and water filters, body armour, GPS navigation and tracking and satellite communications. For example, aid agencies will be interested in the bespoke food aid packs, bulk ambient food supplies and modern survival blankets that we can provide; search and rescue teams will be interested in our range of outdoor clothing from Keela, Paramo, Buffalo and others; and freelance journalists will be interested in our ballistic ‘PRESS’ vests and helmets and personal trauma pouches and other first aid kits.First aid kits, body armour, ration packs, water filters, clothing, sat phones and more for NGOs and journalistsClick To Tweet
In addition, we purchase expensive but essential equipment and make it available for short-term rental to NGOs or freelance journalists that might not be able to afford such items otherwise. This currently includes a satellite phone. We are also fundraising to purchase a complete team first aid kit for vehicle, basecamp or office use, including an automated external defibrillator (AED). We are also able to arrange the rental of overt or covert GPS tracking devices.
We can also supply bulk ambient food supplies and bespoke food aid packs for agencies supplying emergency relief to communities impacted by natural and environmental disasters or displaced by armed conflict.
