Michel Gonzalez Brun is a safety and security coordinator at Open Briefing. He has a strong learning and development background, having previously been a teacher for 15 years and an education advisor in grassroots education programmes in Syria, Tanzania, and Venezuela. He moved into the humanitarian sector, and was the security training coordinator at RedR UK until 2017. Since then, he has provided security risk management support to individual defenders, LGBTQIA+ activists and organisations, and civil society organisations across the world. Michel has a master’s degree in international development and education and a Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
