Bineta Gueye Thiam is wellbeing and collective care consultant at Open Briefing. She is a Senegalese-British mental health practitioner and researcher working at the intersection of psychology, community wellbeing and decolonial practice. She is also is founder and president of WASSOR Womanity, a Senegalese nonprofit supporting women carrying care responsibilities, and a PhD researcher at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), where her research examines Lebu ancestral knowledge and community wellbeing.

Bineta was an academic associate in Critical Psychology at NTU and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her earlier career spans forensic mental health, social research at NatCen, and mental health coordination in the UK housing sector. She holds an MSc in Forensic Mental Health from Queen Mary University of London and a BSc in Psychology from the University of East London. She works in English, French and Wolof, and is based between London and Dakar.
