He has held senior security and operational roles with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the European Union, working extensively in complex and high-risk environments across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.

Julian’s work focuses on helping organisations and civil society actors understand and manage security risks, strengthen their resilience and operate safely in challenging environments. He has particular expertise in crisis management, humanitarian access and security training.
