Wanted: Exceptional civil society leaders from the global south for advisory board

As we embark on an exciting period of expansion and institutional development, Open Briefing is recruiting for a number of voluntary positions to join our advisory board.

It is essential that our board is representative of the people that most need our support: human rights defenders and civic actors in the global south. Furthermore, we believe that when we join forces in our diversity, we can overcome the ‘staleness’ so often associated with boards, and instead spark creativity, excitement and momentum.

So if you are an exceptional, senior leader from the human rights sector in the global south, we would love to hear from you! We are particularly looking for individuals with considerable experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial management
  • Networking
  • Fundraising
  • Business mentoring

The expected time commitment is three half-day advisory board meetings per year by video conference. In addition, we request that advisers be available for approximately four hours a month to provide relevant support to our Senior Management Team.

There is no deadline for applications. For more information, please send your CV to our deputy director, Dan Williamson, at [email protected].
