Open Briefing has recently developed security risk management frameworks for:
- A US human rights organisation with offices across the Middle East and Africa, including Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Central African Republic and Nigeria.
- A London-based charity defending the right to privacy and standing against overarching corporate and state surveillance.
- A Swedish humanitarian agency running conflict transformation programmes in East Africa and the Horn of Africa.
Our Safety and Security Lead has developed 25 such frameworks in the last four years.
We build these frameworks to reflect the specific mission, approach, operating environments, resources and risk threshold of an organisation. As such, this work is usually preceded by a security management and duty of care audit. Once we have developed the framework, we then support our clients with training and a retained consultant in order to embed the new policies, procedures and resources within their working culture and practices.
